Ex-Patriot Player Raffling Super Bowl Ring For Charity

Former Patriots Safety Je’Rod Cherry is raffling his Super Bowl XXXVI ring to support a number of charities - the complete details are below in the press release, posted verbatim.

Not sure how I feel about this - it’s not an Academy Award, but he does have a few and the money raised is going to worthy causes.

Je’Rod Cherry chose to raffle off his Super Bowl Ring after attending a Momentum East, the annual Grace Brethren youth conference. It was here that he and his wife were exposed to the horrible conditions affecting children around the world. Each individual that buys a raffle ticket not only has the chance to win a piece of history, but helps a child in need.

About Boston For Africa

Boston for Africa is a two-day event series brought to you by Red Wing Custom Motorcycles, the Hard Rock Cafe, Activision Games, InterContinental Hotels, and Spectrum Marketing Companies to support, benefit, and bring attention to a global challenge that affects us all. Many African people have been born into a cycle of war and poverty that the rest of the world has an opportunity to end. Years of effort and millions of dollars have been poured into pure humanitarian aid, but a lack of results has seen the perpetuation of violence. Now, as a part of a progressive breed of results-driven & business-minded NGOs, Foundation Rwanda, FORGE & Opportunity International strategically leverage the capacities of impoverished communities to lead themselves into prosperity. With the simplest of opportunities, small-scale change is growing from the bottom up and the African continent is realizing positive change.
