Tailgate Haven offers a Web-based tailgate planner. I did not setup one, but I went thru the Web site and saw their demo. You can plan all of the elements for your tailgate, from the people to the food. And it’s free!
Again, where was this years ago for me? Check it out and let us know how it works for you.

From the people who are bringing you the Olympics comes blog widgets for all major sports.
Rotoworld is the fantasy sports news arm of NBC Sports and offers what looks like the standard fare for fantasy sports information. I say what looks like as I am not into fantasy sports, but I digress.
One service they offer are free Flash widgets for your blog, Web site, Facebook, et. al. The one accompanying this post is for the Pats, and they offer them for all NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL teams.

There’s nothing like opening your email and hearing excellent news. Harpoon Beer, a local microbrew from Boston, is now being sold in Chicago. As a “Friend of Harpoon” from my days of living in the Boston area, I was informed of this the other day. Rather than attaching a photo or video of my reaction to this news, I decided to post this photo of a pint of Harpoon IPA I took on a recent visit to the Bukowski Tavern in Boston’s Back Bay, one of my favorite stops when I return to the Hub.
To launch the arrival in the Windy City, Harpoon is having an event on Monday, August 11 at Sheffield’s Beer and Wine Garden in Chicago. Read more information on the event and pre-register. I’ll be there, and I know it will be a wicked pissa!

Are you ready for some football? With NFL training camps already under way and the season a mere weeks from kickoff, its time to start your planning and following of the schedule.
The people at Schmap have created a cool widget for your blog or Web site to visualize your team’s schedule with maps. The widget is in this blog post, and if you cannot see it for some reason, check out Out In The Loop and I have added it to the sidebar. Where I would agree that everyone should have a Patriots schedule, you can choose your team as well as other settings to customize.

I have added a link to Sports Wearhouse , which offers a full line of sports memorabilia and apparel, including for the Patriots. For a little nostalgia, check out the Hartford Whalers page. I can hear Brass Bonanza playing somewhere as I perused it!

As Training Camp gears up and the season begins to unfold, I get the latest scoop and information of what is coming out of Foxboro from The Patriot Act, an excellent blog that is part of the Most Valuable Network, or MVN.
You may have seen our burgeoning Links page on GoPats.com, featuring links to other fan Web sites, organizations and commercial entities. I would like to say they are a hand-picked selection of the best Web sites out there, but in reality they are the result of link trades with the Web sites. The fact that most of them are good is a bonus.
I have added a link to Patriots-Memorabilia.com, and by the name, you can guess they offer Patriots memorabilia for sale. They have a cool variety of items posted on their Web site, and is worth a look around even if you’re not in the market. There’s even a collection of Drew Bledsoe items, which for all of us bring back memories.
As I post new links I will post them here. That’s a good idea, right?
Schmap is an interactive guide using zoomable maps and photos to showcase landmarks. The entry for Gillette Stadium is in their East Coast guide. No, we didn’t get anything for it… they spelled my last name correctly, and that’s all I can ask for!
Today the NFL released its 2008 schedule, and GoPats.com has been updated with the 2008 Pats schedule as it stands right now. The defending AFC champs have an early bye in week 4 and go almost a month after it from another home game, with back-to-back games in San Francisco and San Diego.
What a better way to celebrate tax day than a popular diversion - the Pats? Today I am launching a new feature of GoPats.com.
Out In The Loop is a new blog tied to the 12-year old Patriots fan Web site and is a big step forward in a few areas. First off, it brings me, the tech side of GoPats.com, front and center and writing, adding more comment and opinion. It adds an RSS feed to the site, allowing people to subscribe and read updates in their favorite reader or by email. It also opens up the conversation between GoPats.com and readers, as comments can be made to blog posts. All posts are moderated in case you were curious.
So what will you expect to read here? It will be a combination of my thoughts and opinions, from a Boston sports fan living in Chicago. It will not be the in-depth coverage Clint, Frank and Ralph have written about. I am not an X’s and O’s guy, and from what I have seen out there I am not alone. I will also post updates to other areas of GoPats.com, as well as passing along information we get from other fans and readers.
So what’s up with the name? Out In The Loop is a play on who and where I am. Being in Chicago, I am out of the loop of the day-to-day activity and buzz Pats fans get in the Boston area, yet I am in the Loop - the area defined by the circling elevated public transit trains in Chicago.
